Description

"A triumph of trust in God!"
- Claire Dwyer

The Point of Viability is a true story of faith tested at the limits of hope. In this deeply moving spiritual memoir, Julie Yost takes you into her journey through infertility, a high-risk triplet pregnancy, extended hospital bedrest, devastating loss, and unexpected grace. Centered on the fragile threshold where medicine defines “viability,” this story unfolds at the intersection of suffering and surrender—where prayer becomes breath and trust in God is learned moment by moment.

With unflinching honesty and profound reverence, Julie reflects on motherhood, grief, and the surprisingly beautiful ways the Lord meets us in our most vulnerable hours. The Point of Viability is not a story of easy answers, but a witness to how hope, joy, and life can flourish even in the shadow of the cross.

As her journey unfolds, Julie creates space for you to pause, breathe, and welcome the Lord into the center of your own sacred narrative. Blending heartfelt testimony with prayerful reflections, this book offers a gentle invitation to experience the abundant life Jesus promises, regardless of the challenges you face.

Praise for The Point of Viability

"Julie writes with such honesty and grace about infertility, a challenging pregnancy, loss, miracles, God's healing love, and the joy of life. I felt like / was sharing in every woman's suffering and joy. I cried and praised God for His goodness in each moving chapter."

— Dr. Bob Schuchts, bestselling author of Be Healed and founder of the John Paul Il Healing Center

"If you want to witness the birth of our crucified and risen Lord within a soul, read this book. As a priest who meets with women and men grieving the loss of a child, I will be buying this book in bulk to assure them they are not alone."

— Fr. Eric Roush, Archdiocese of Cincinnati

"A tender and courageous witness to the kind of joy that does not deny suffering, but grows alongside it. Julie shows us that grief and gratitude are not opposites, but companions— and that even in the most fragile spaces of loss and uncertainty, God still meets us, and we can still come alive."

— Kelly Breaux, founder of Red Bird Ministries

    Always in Your Heart

    Susan M on Jul 20th 2026

Julie's story touched me deeper than I ever expected. It is a beautiful, yet heart wrenching journal of the toughest days of her life. It's raw and deeply heartfelt and spiritual. [It drew out emotions that forced me to recognize specific grief moments after significant loss in my own life.] I love the reflections and questions at the end of each chapter. Those make this book a reference I will come back to throughout life whenever I'm facing challenging times. Julie has given me a way to connect deeper with God in times of tremendous joy and deep sorrow.

Hope and healing amidst uncertainty, pain, and loss

    James on Jul 18th 2026

A beautiful story of God’s faithfulness and having hope amidst uncertainty, pain, and loss. Each chapter deeply touched me and allowed me to experience God’s healing and guiding hand in my own life as I experienced Him at work in Julie’s life. This is a must read for anyone seeking to find new life from past or current loss in their lives. God truly inspired Julie to write about her own story to help us find Him amidst our own sufferings and to see His redemption always at work to bring healing and to lead us into life.

A perspective and journey everyone has to read!

Annie DeNome on Jul 18th 2026

While this was a quick read, I felt like I was transported back in time, actually walking alongside Julie in her story. She truly made me feel like I was in her shoes, thus also learning a little bit of what God was teaching her along the way. I felt the mundanity of her long hospital stay, I felt her frustration, I pleaded with God alongside her, I missed her family, and I felt the sadness of eating hospital food. And I cried over every word that was written. Even though I was 8 when this story happened, I wish I could have shown up for her then and been a companion to the Yost family. This read is impactful for anyone’s heart and to know that ultimately God works everything for our good. I’m truly amazed by the witness of her faith and resilience and her choice to continue to trust in God. This made me realize how precious life is and what a gift each soul that has ever been created is to the Kingdom ?

    An Inspiring Journey through Grief

    Unknown on Jul 6th 2026

The Point of Viability is one of those rare books that stays with you long after you've finished the last page. Julie Yost writes with remarkable honesty and vulnerability, inviting readers into some of the most painful moments of her life while never losing sight of the hope that comes from trusting God. What impacted me most was that this isn't a story that tries to explain away suffering or wrap everything up with easy answers. Instead, it shows how God faithfully walks with us through grief, uncertainty, and impossible circumstances. Julie's reflections are authentic, deeply moving, and full of wisdom that anyone facing hardship can relate to. Whether you've experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, serious illness, or simply wondered where God is in the middle of life's hardest seasons, this book offers encouragement without minimizing the pain. It is beautifully written, emotionally compelling, and filled with reminders that even in our most fragile moments, hope is never out of reach. I highly recommend The Point of Viability to anyone looking for a powerful story of perseverance, faith, and the quiet but unmistakable presence of God.

    Beautiful.

    Sophia G on Jul 3rd 2026

This memoir was an absolute joy to read. (I read it in one day!!) Julie does an incredible job of drawing the reader in, making you feel like you are RIGHT THERE experiencing every joy, every sorrow with her. She puts her immense suffering into perspective, reminding readers that even amidst the greatest pain, God will never leave. She makes her suffering relatable, helping me find places where I could apply the same hopeful, joyful mindsets she had through her suffering, to my very own situations. Thank you for writing such an inspiring work of art!

    The Point of Viability

Mary Kay Taylor on Jun 25th 2026

This book is the story of loss and hope and love. The author takes you through this amazing time of her triplet pregnancy. It is raw, real and does not hide her struggles of faith and doubt in her ability to handle all that is happening. But it is a beautiful story of her love for these children and how she kept going through the losses and joy in the end. The reflections and questions she asks make you realize how you may have gone through a similar time and how God was there by your side. What a beautiful story.
